How to Fix File and Folder Permissions Error

There are certain errors that you may get with WordPress that can be very frustrating, including the annoying ‘file and folder permissions error’ which can hold you back from running with your website.

1. Correct File and Folder Permissions in WordPress

You need set true for port values in file,  folder, sub folder

Now, many theme install data relates port, if you don’t set 644 for files and 755 for folder, sub folder. You will install demo fail. So if you have trouble in install your demo, please login your FTP/ Cpanel to check your port.

2. Fix File and Folder Permissions in WordPress by FTP

You can fix this error by login in FTP/ Cpanel, you go to folder: wp-admin, wp-content, wp-include then right click to select File permissions.

Please enter numeric value: 755 as image.  To continue this process, you click OK.  Now, please wait a short time for setting in your FTP clients, it takes 5-7 minutes or more time, depend on your files and folders. After the setting finishs, you can select all folders, right click and select file permissions as image:

The different dialog box is appear,  you enter numeric value :644 for files

After you enter value, you need click in “Recurse into subdirectories”  and then click “Apply to files only”

To finish the dialog box, you click Ok to save the setting.
